This the second year that we have grown pumpkins on our allotment and we have been very pleased with the results. Not as many athis year but still done well. Some will be saved for Halloween and some for pumkin soup. Would be interested if anyone has other recipes, particularly pumpkin pie as this is not an item we eat in the UK. Sara x :)

Your pumpkins are beautiful Sara! We grow pumpkins some years and they are good baked like squash. cut off stem and split in half. Then scoop out seeds and bake cut side down on low sides sheet that has been oiled.bake 350 till fork tender. We eat ours with salt, pepper and butter.

Hi Sara, I have a recipe for pumpkin pie which I think you will love! I will sort a copy out for you. Can you let me have some of your business cards please. I had a lady in the shop today looking for a miniture teapot. Told her about you but I did not have one of your cards with me so she will call in again tomorrow.

They have grown really well.
ReplyDeleteUntil I moved to the USA I didn't even know people ate them lol. I'd certainly never heard of pumpkin pie when I lived in England. Still haven't tried it either....maybe this year.
